AIM

To develop the skills in the area of HVDC power transmission with the analysis of HVDC

converters, harmonics and design of filters.

OBJECTIVE

To understand the concept, planning of DC power transmission and comparison with

AC power transmission.

To analyze HVDC converters.

To study about compounding and regulation.

To analyze harmonics and design of filters.

To learn about HVDC cables and simulation tools.

UNIT II ANALYSIS OF HVDC CONVERTERS

Pulse number – Choice of converter configuration – Simplified analysis of Graetz circuit

UNIT III COMPOUNDING AND REGULATIONS
